Choose by fit, installation and legend.

Conductor cross-section does not define the outside diameter of an insulated cable. Check both the product table and the actual wire before ordering.

Cable dimensions

Provide conductor size in mm² or AWG and the insulated outside diameter. For flat wires, include width and thickness; match the exact model's fit range.

Installation stage

For an already terminated wire, consider the SM clip-on format. Check cable-end access and the fitting method for sleeves, PVC and heat shrink markers.

Marking content

Specify digits, letters, symbols, blanks or a custom legend. EC, MEC and EC-J list character options; do not assume identical legends or printing options across every series.

Service conditions

State temperature, exposure and any material requirements. Ratings belong to the selected series; confirm relevant documentation and marking durability for the intended environment.

Cable Markers
buying questions.

What is the difference between cable markers and marker cable ties?

Cable markers identify individual wires or cables using characters, sleeves, strips or holders. Marker cable ties combine a bundling tie with a marking area and are a separate product family. Choose according to whether you need identification, bundling or both.

Can I install cable markers after terminating the wire?

SM clip-on cable markers are listed for fitting after cable installation. For other formats, confirm the installation method and whether cable-end access is needed before selecting a model.

Should I select markers by conductor size or cable diameter?

Use the exact model's sizing table and check the insulated cable dimensions. Two cables with the same conductor cross-section can have different insulation diameters. Do not interchange mm² conductor area and mm outside diameter.

Which characters are available?

EC, MEC and EC-J listings include 0–9, A–Z and symbols such as plus, minus and slashes; the EC range also lists blanks. SM lists numbers, letters and special symbols. Confirm the required character and quantity for your chosen series.

Are all cable markers halogen-free or rated to 125°C?

No. Those characteristics are listed for the halogen-free heat shrink marker product, not for all PVC, POM, nylon or PP identification products. Check the selected product's specification.

Can heat shrink markers be used with any label printer?

Do not assume universal compatibility. Confirm marker size, supply format, printer and ribbon suitability, shrink conditions and required print durability before ordering.

How do I choose marking strips and holders?

Match the strip or insert dimensions to the holder and the available installation space. PP strips list 12, 15, 20 and 25 mm lengths with a common 4 mm width; MS strips list 65–200 mm lengths and 9.5 mm width. These are different formats, not interchangeable sizes.

Are cable markers supplied in the same pack quantity?

No. Quantities vary by series and size, with rolls, bags, boxes and plates used across the range. Use the individual model's packing table when preparing your purchase quantities.

What should I include in a quotation request?

Send your marker series, insulated wire dimensions, legend schedule and quantities. Include colours, packing preferences and any printing or material requirements. Include the exact model quantities, delivery destination and required documentation.

Can you review custom labels and packaging?

Send your part numbers, label artwork, pack quantities and shipment requirements. Feasibility, sample requirements, minimum quantities and lead time are confirmed for the requested models.
